In an intensely competitive Eye care segment globally, the robotic technology interface is pushing the patient care limits to exciting and predictable results.
India is catching up
fast, but only a handful number of best hospitals are in the
reckoning. “We took the challenge onto ourselves and thought to do
something exceptional for our people of the Malwa region. We thus
have for the first time ever, Femto Z8 LDV, Fastest laser eye
platform in the world here in the city of Bathinda. Said Dr. Kashish
Gupta, the Head of ophthalmology and Lead robotic Eye surgeon at Max
Bathinda. The next-Gen Laser eye surgery platform for cataract, Lasik
and Corneal transplant is believed to be many notches advance than
traditional Laser eye machines.
The machine’s robotic
Component makes eye surgery seamless, predictable and safer than
before and is approved by the best ophthalmic medical bodies from the
USA to South Korea. It generates the fastest laser pulse frequency,
unmatched by any Laser eye platform previously operating in the eye
care segment. It has the best safety profile because of the low pulse
laser, which dramatically minimises any side effect or potential
damage to a patient’s eye.
The services of this
state-of-the-art laser machine have been formally launched in the
Department of Ophthalmology at the prestigious Max hospitals in
Bathinda. “Such sophisticated medical equipment needs advance
training and skill to handle”, Says Dr. kashish Gupta. “I and a
handful of my colleagues in India were selectively sent to the
world’s premier National Eye Centre In Singapore; where we were
trained to handle this technological marvel in eye surgeries for
Cataract, LASIK and corneal transplants”,
“Not only did we bring
this technology here to the Malwa region for the first time ever, but
we are also ensuring that it is cost-competitive compared to any
Metro city in India,” adds Dr Kashish. Members of the Civil
society and medical fraternity of Bathinda have praised and
appreciated the move, which will cut down on the need & cost to
go out of Punjab for such hi-end laser eye treatments.
The GM Operations Max
group, Dr Harman Loona in his keynote address, lauded the efforts of
the Ophthalmology departments of the max hospital under the
leadership and vision of Dr. kashish Gupta. He further assured the
attending press core at the launch ceremony that Max Bathinda should
continue to be at the forefront of introducing the best medical care
Dr Debrpiya Chatterji,
Cornea fellow from Aravind Eye hospital Kolkata in her speech
reiterated the commitment of providing best eye care to the patient
base of Bathinda and its catchment areas. Dr Chatterji would very
soon be available at max Bathinda for all kind of corneal transplant
procedures using the new Z8 LDV laser eye workstation.
An informative
documentary film highlighting the unique service features of the
machine was screened at the end of this press conference; which was
well received by the present audience. A large number of TV, print
and web journalists of the Bathinda and Malwa region attended the
press conference. The event concluded with a question and answer
session addressed by the expert surgeons and senior doctors.
